UMI artists’ residence at Užupio g. 2A

The artists’ residence is located in bohemian Užupis, on the banks of the Vilnelė River, where windmills capture the creative inspiration for artists.

Peculiarities of the studios:

· Safe and tidy environment.

· Cosy interior with authentic finishes.

· Views of nature and the old town through windows.

· Shared kitchenette.

· Shared shower.

· Access to WIFI.

· Bicycle rack next to entrance.

· Some studios have sinks.

Opportunities for residents:

· For proactive and well-paying residents – to present an exhibition of their works once a year free of charge at the UMI gallery Galera.

· A discount is provided for renting the educational space “Palėpė”.

· To realize art works in the gallery store “Magnetai ir Stebuklai”.

· Use UMI publicity channels – information distribution about events, achievements, publicity of press releases on UMI website, social network, media channels.

· Initiate and implement creative ideas in the cultural space of Užupis Art Incubator, Užupis community and Vilnius city.

Strategically convenient location – Vilnius Old Town is within easy reach:

· To Vilnius Cathedral – 800 m.

· There is an abundance of cafes around – Užupis Café, Užupis Pizzeria, “Kitsch”, “Spoon Out” and others.

· Nearest shops – “Iki” 100 m away; “Aibe” for 500 m; “Rimi” 650 m away.

· Nearest public transport stops – “Vilnios” 20 m away; “Užupio” for 160 m; “Dailes akademija” 250 m.

UMI internal rules at Uzupio g. 2A

1. Main rule

Use the UMI premises under contract with UMI.

2. Safety

Follow the security rules set by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania during an emergency.

You must lock the common stairwell door every time you come in and out. If you are waiting for guests, please meet them yourself and lock the door again when you let it in. This is necessary to ensure the security of your property and that of UMI. In all cases, contact UMI staff if you need assistance using the facilities or equipment.

Public or private gatherings may not be organized inside or near the building without the notice and consent of the UMI staff.

3. Car parking

There are no parking spaces in the yard. So please leave the cars on the adjacent streets, adjacent parking lots, etc. If necessary, if you bring or remove equipment, works, furniture, other means, contact a UMI employee to unlock the gate and lock it again when you leave.

4. Bicycle parking

Bicycles can be parked in the courtyard stands. Bicycles are not allowed in the studios or corridors in the building,

5. Neighbors

We recommend – take a break for shared coffee and tea, find out what your neighbor is doing, get to know each other, talk.

6. Communality

Try to participate in UMI events, project and exhibition openings, exhibitions of other UMI resident artists. You can also initiate projects in UMI spaces in consultation with the UMI team. You can describe these or other community-friendly suggestions and email us to info@umi.lt.

7. Cleanliness

Maintain the order and cleanliness of the yard and premises. Don’t wait for the cleaner to pick up the trash, if you can, do it yourself.

8. Orderliness

Do not smoke or drink alcohol or use other drugs in studios and common areas. Do not make noise or disturb your neighbors.

9. Responsibility

If you notice electrical appliances or other equipment that is not working in the UMI premises, notify the UMI staff immediately or call tel. no. 868315200.

UMI Creative Business Residence Krivių g. 12

Residence of creative businesses is located in a quiet corner of Užupis, surrounded by nature in the territory of Vilnius Castle Reserve.

Peculiarities of studies:

· Safe and tidy environment.

· There is a parking lot next to the building.

· There is a common meeting space.

· Shared kitchenette.

· Shared shower.

· Access to WIFI.

· Lounge terrace with forest views.

· Bright rooms with panoramic windows.

Opportunities for residents:

· For proactive and well-paying residents – to present an exhibition of their works once a year free of charge at the UMI gallery Galera.

· A discount is provided for renting the educational space “Palėpė”.

· To sell works in the gallery store “Magnetai ir Stebuklai”.

· Use UMI publicity channels – information distribution about events, achievements, publicity of press releases on UMI website, social network, media channels.

· Initiate and implement creative ideas in the cultural space of Užupis Art Incubator, Užupis community and Vilnius city.

1. Main rule

Use the UMI premises under contract with UMI.

2. Safety

When you come to work, make sure that the alarm is disconnected – if it is not disconnected, disconnect it by entering the code on the remote control. When you’re done and before you leave, make sure there are other people working. If you are sure that you are leaving last, check that the terrace door is locked and common area windows are closed, turn off the lights and dial the alarm code on the remote control when you exit, lock the doors.

The official opening hours of the institution are Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00.

For your own safety, the building’s front door must be locked during unofficial opening hours, and outsiders may not be invited without the consent of UMI staff.

Public or private gatherings may not be organized inside or near the building without the notice and consent of the UMI staff.
